Services

Senior marketing thinking, without the full-time hire.

I work across strategy, brand, marketing and the people doing the work. Most engagements start with one of the three areas below, and many end up touching more than one.

Who I tend to work with

For businesses that have outgrown ad hoc marketing

  • Growing SMEsYou've reached the point where marketing needs more structure and more senior thinking than it's had so far.
  • Businesses with a junior marketer or designerYou already employ someone who can do the work. They need strategy, systems and someone experienced to learn from.
  • Businesses going through changeA rebrand, a new service, growth, contraction, or a brand that simply doesn't represent you anymore.
  • Founder-led and early-stage businessesThe business grew organically, or is just getting going, and the brand and marketing haven't caught up yet.
  • Businesses that need a clear next stepYou don't need someone doing marketing every day. You need an honest audit and a plan for where to go next.
  • Trade and service businessesA lot of my experience is here, so I understand the pace, the customers and how enquiries really come in.

01

Marketing Team Development

You already have a marketer. They just need more direction.

For businesses with a junior marketer, coordinator, graphic designer or small marketing team who are doing their best without a senior person to learn from.

I come into the business, look at how marketing is really working, and build the strategy and systems around the people you already have. Then I train and mentor them until they can run it with confidence.

This isn't me managing your employee from the outside. It's development, structure and strategic support, so the marketing function you're left with is stronger than the one I found.

What it can include

  • Marketing function audit
  • Skills and capability review
  • Marketing strategy
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • SOP development
  • Marketing workflows
  • Project management systems
  • Templates
  • Reporting structures
  • Training
  • One-on-one mentoring
  • Campaign planning
  • Feedback and review processes
  • Ongoing senior guidance
  • Handover and independence plan

02

Brand Strategy & Rebrands

A logo is the last step, not the first.

End-to-end brand development or repositioning, from research through to a brand your team can actually use day to day.

Branding gets treated as the decorative layer far too often. I start with the strategy: who you want to matter to, what you want to be known for and what makes that believable. That strategy sets the creative direction, and the creative direction decides how the brand looks, sounds and shows up.

Because I come from a design background, I can take a project all the way through, or brief and direct your designer so the strategy survives the handover.

What it can include

  • Research
  • Competitor research
  • Audience and customer research
  • Brand positioning
  • Brand strategy
  • Messaging
  • Creative direction
  • Logo development
  • Colour systems
  • Typography
  • Brand guidelines
  • Initial collateral
  • Rollout planning
Good fit if
  • Your brand no longer represents what the business does now
  • You're launching, merging, repositioning or adding a new service line
  • Everything looks slightly different depending on who made it

Marketing, SEO & AEO Strategy

What's working, what's missing, and what's next?

A clear look at where your marketing and search presence stand today, and a practical plan for what deserves your attention next.

This is strategic work. I audit your marketing, website and search visibility, including how ready you are for AI search tools and answer engines, and turn what I find into priorities your team or suppliers can act on.

I won't promise rankings. Nobody honest can. What I can do is show you where the real opportunities are and stop you spending money on the wrong things.

What it can include

  • Marketing audits
  • Website audits
  • SEO review
  • AEO and AI search readiness
  • Google Business Profile review
  • Content strategy
  • Website structure
  • Keyword opportunities
  • Competitor analysis
  • Customer journey
  • Campaign direction
  • Marketing priorities
  • Action plans
  • Content & copywriting

Worth knowing

What I'm not the right fit for

I'd rather tell you now than waste your time. Social media can be part of a bigger marketing engagement, but I'm not a production resource. If you mainly need someone to create and publish content for you every week, you'll get better value from a specialist.

  • Videography
  • Photography
  • Reel editing
  • Weekly on-site filming
  • Daily content creation
  • Social media posting packages

Happy to recommend people for these if I know someone good.

What I learnt from her wasn’t just how to do particular marketing tasks, but how to think through a problem properly — understanding what the business actually needs, what is realistic with the resources available, what should be prioritised, and how we can get there in the most effective way.
